The Department of Transportation labels and markings were correct as of October 2000. Revisions to the DOT code may have changed since then. Consult 49CFR171 for latest requirements.

Note: The four digit number on the yellow rectangle identified for each chemical are called UN (United Nations) numbers. These are used by emergency personnel as a way to identify the specific chemical quickly and respond to the hazard properly.
